A history of expertise. A future of confidence.

Asset integrity inspection and engineering support, built on specialist expertise since 1991.

Who we are

Inspection knowledge. Engineering perspective. Global connection.

Inspecta Group is a multinational provider of Asset Integrity Management Services, connecting inspection technologies, engineering assessment and project quality support for industrial assets. Established in 1991, the Group has developed from a specialist engineering consultancy into an international network serving onshore, offshore and downstream operations. Our work helps clients understand equipment condition, identify the significance of degradation and plan practical action throughout an asset’s service life.

The current portfolio brings together Risk-Based Inspection, Fitness-for-Service, Remaining Life Assessment, advanced and conventional non-destructive testing, pipeline integrity, specialist access, marine and subsea inspection, and regulatory equipment inspection. These disciplines can support a focused examination of one component or a coordinated programme involving multiple assets and techniques. The aim is to connect reliable condition information with the operational decision the client needs to make.

Our heritage

Built on specialist expertise since 1991.

Mr. Mahmoud Alshehry founded Inspecta in Roanoke, Virginia, USA, as an engineering consultancy providing welding supervision, repair support, non-destructive testing and quality assurance. This combination of inspection and engineering remains central to the Group’s approach: understanding the asset, selecting an appropriate examination and interpreting the findings in a useful technical context.

The establishment of headquarters in Manama, Bahrain, during the mid-1990s strengthened the Group’s presence in the Gulf and MENA region. Continued development across the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia and Africa broadened its international network and specialist capabilities. Bahrain is the Global Headquarters; the Arzew office is the Algerian Regional Headquarters, and Muscat is the Regional Headquarters for Oman. The Founder and President’s message and the company timeline are presented below as part of this continuing history.

Asset integrity management

Connect the inspection result with the next decision.

Asset integrity management brings together the physical condition of equipment, its operating environment and the consequences of loss of function. A useful inspection programme begins with the question that needs answering: whether an asset is affected by corrosion, whether a weld indication requires further evaluation, where inspection resources should be prioritised, or whether equipment can continue operating within defined limits.

Risk-Based Inspection supports the prioritisation of inspection effort by considering likelihood and consequences. Fitness-for-Service evaluates equipment with identified damage against an appropriate engineering framework. Remaining Life Assessment considers inspection evidence, degradation behaviour and operating conditions to support planning. These services are complementary: inspection supplies condition information, while engineering assessment helps determine what that information means for operation, maintenance and future examination.

Inspection capability

A connected range of examination techniques.

Inspecta’s brochure describes advanced and conventional NDT for on-stream and off-stream inspection of static and rotating equipment. The ultrasonic portfolio includes automated ultrasonic testing, phased array, time of flight diffraction and corrosion mapping of piping, pressure vessels and tanks. Long-range guided wave testing supports screening of pipelines, piping and tubular structures from accessible positions.

The wider portfolio includes heat exchanger, boiler and cooler tube inspection using IRIS, eddy current, remote field, near field and magnetic flux leakage techniques; corrosion-under-insulation surveys using pulsed eddy current; replica testing of furnace and heater tubes; and tank inspection using MFL and ultrasonic scanning. Radiography, computed and digital radiographic techniques, ACFM crack surveys and acoustic emission testing provide further options. Material, geometry, access, damage mechanism and the required deliverables guide method selection rather than treating any one technique as universally suitable.

Pipeline, access and offshore

Reach the asset. Build a useful condition picture.

Pipeline integrity services include in-line inspection for piggable and non-piggable applications, close interval potential surveys, direct current voltage gradient surveys and long-range ultrasonic testing. Each contributes a different part of the condition picture: internal inspection findings, cathodic protection performance, coating-related indications or screening of accessible lengths and crossings. Combining results can support the selection of locations for more detailed examination and engineering review.

Rope access supports inspection in remote or difficult-to-reach locations where access planning is an important part of the scope. Marine and subsea services include cathodic protection measurements, ultrasonic inspection, flooded member detection, ACFM and remotely operated vehicle services. Rigs and OCTG tubular inspection add capabilities for drilling-related assets. Inspection coverage, access limitations, positioning, equipment suitability and reporting requirements are established as part of planning so that findings remain traceable to the asset examined.

Project and regulatory support

Quality through fabrication, installation and service.

For EPC and fabrication projects, the service portfolio includes quality management support, QA/QC, conventional NDT, post-weld heat treatment and cathodic protection activities. Bringing these disciplines into project planning helps align inspection stages, documentation requirements and technical review with the fabrication or installation programme. Clear responsibilities and controlled records support the handover of useful inspection evidence to the operator.

Regulatory inspection activities include pressure equipment, lifting and handling equipment, and industrial electrical installations. The brochure describes periodic inspection of boilers, tanks and piping, verification of pressure-related devices, and traceable conformity reporting. Lifting scopes include cranes, hoists, forklifts and accessories, with examination and testing appropriate to the equipment. Electrical scopes include switchgear, earthing, insulation and protective devices. Applicable legislation, standards, entity authorisations and project requirements determine the scope for each assignment.

Quality, HSE and information

Responsible delivery starts with disciplined management.

Inspecta’s management approach brings quality, health, safety and environmental considerations into the organisation and delivery of inspection work. The brochure identifies quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems, alongside corporate HSE management and secure IT and data policies. These provide a framework for consistent procedures, defined responsibilities, controlled information and continuing improvement.

The Group’s qualification portfolio includes ISO management-system certification, ISO/IEC 17020 inspection-body accreditation through ALGERAC in Algeria, LEEA membership and the Algerian ARH prequalification record described in the brochure. The Certification page presents the detailed history and categories. For a particular assignment, the relevant legal entity, authorised activities and applicable documentation form part of project qualification. Competent personnel, appropriate equipment, sound work planning and technical review remain essential to the inspection itself.

Our international network

Global knowledge with regional project understanding.

The Group’s network spans Bahrain, Algeria, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. This international connection supports access to specialist knowledge while regional teams bring an understanding of the client’s site, operating environment and project requirements. The Contact page provides the office directory, including the four Algerian offices and the two Omani locations.

The principal focus is petroleum, hydrocarbon, petrochemical and power operations. The Founder’s message also identifies experience across utilities, mining, maritime, rail and aviation. Different industries and assets require different inspection objectives, but the underlying approach remains consistent: understand the operating context, gather relevant evidence, evaluate findings appropriately and communicate the results clearly.

Purpose and partnership

Safer operations. Informed decisions. Lasting relationships.

Our purpose is to help clients understand asset condition, manage operational risk and make informed inspection, maintenance and serviceability decisions. We value technical competence, professional conduct, respect for people and responsible treatment of information. Safety, reliability and environmental responsibility are considered alongside the practical requirements of project delivery.

A successful assignment is more than a list of measurements. It provides a clear account of what was examined, how it was examined, what was found and what limitations apply. Through experienced professionals, appropriate technologies and connected expertise, Inspecta seeks to support the performance of industrial assets and build lasting relationships with clients and partners. For a new requirement, share the asset type, location, operating conditions, available history and decision the work needs to support; our team can then help develop a suitable scope.
